Ana Cuellar, born in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico, is an accomplished choreographer, dancer and aerialist. Her gymnastic career included being a part of the Mexican National Team.
Ana’s a graduate of Contemporary Dance at The Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. Graduating as an actress in theater at the National Institute of Bellas Artes in Monterrey NL Mexico, she was granted a Talent Scholarship and Individual Artistic Development Honors.
From 2004-2017, Ana performed at Cirque du Soleil La Nouba in Orlando, FL where she was the Team Leader Captain of the Aerial Ballet in Silk team. She also was the understudy for two main roles: “La Petite Madam” and the Aerial main role for the Aerial Ballet in Silk performance. While in Orlando, Ana completed “The Meisner Master Program” at Truthful Acting Studios. Earning many awards, accolades, and scholarships in the art field, Ana earned the “Tenochtitlan Award” in 2012 by Casa Mexico in Orlando,FL , the “Successful Mexican Woman Award” in 2015 for her contributions in Central Florida, and the National Award “Flama Vida y Mujer” in 2017 in Monterrey NL, Mexico.
Ana has been invited to choreograph her pieces in different dance companies in New York City, Mexico and Orlando Florida.
As Director/Choreographer Ana has presented her productions at many well known festivals like, Orlando International Fringe Festival, Latin American Festival of Performing Arts, and many others.
Ana is the Founder / Director of Ana Cuellar Productions, a professional contemporary dance company that interweaves dance techniques to explore the nuances of intersectionality the work is commonly set to original music.
Ana Cuellar, is recognized for innovative work and collaborations with artists at the highest level from diverse backgrounds and genres.
Ana Cuellar Productions' work received a nomination for the 2018 - 2019 Broadway World Orlando Awards as Best Choreography Professional.
Ana worked at Cirque du Soleil at sea as Choreographer / Artistic coach / Artistic Lead, working on the integration of the new artists cast changeovers for the shows Viaggio, Sonor, Syma and Varela During the time she spent at Cirque she choreographed several acts (dance trapeze, straps, duo dance)
